Emily Nott, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's degree from Loyola University Chicago. I have 15 years of experience working with individuals and vulnerable populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in mood disorders (anxiety/depression), trauma, and immigration/acculturation issues and speak Spanish as a second language.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In sessions I will pull from cognitive behavioral therapy, utilizing a strengths-based and trauma-focused approach. I will help you identify the patterns that are keeping you from getting unstuck and moving forward. I am down to earth and bring humor into our sessions when appropriate. Therapy doesn’t have to be something you dread! I am here to find where we can add some joy back into your life.

What you can expect from our first session

Stress and anxiety can really do a number on many aspects of our lives, including our physical health, our mental health, and our relationships with those around us. I help people who want to feel more confident in their everyday life choices as well as those big life decisions, but who feel suffocated by responsibility and other perceived limits. I will support you in taking control of your life so you can advance confidently through life’s tough chapters and be better prepared to take on what’s next. I hope you will schedule a consultation with me to see if we would be a good fit!
